Kentucky Derby 145 Post Positions

4/5/2022

We have been on the common ground that this year’s edition of the Kentucky Derby 2020 comes with the most abnormal circumstance ever. For the first time, the event will take place behind the closed door.

In the 145-year history of the Kentucky Derby race, not a single horse has ever won the Derby from that position. 17 is slated as the only gate that never produces the winner of the Kentucky Derby. Regardless, it is not the first time for the no.17 to hold the favorites. In the Previous Derby, the favorite didn’t come through.

Back then, the officials announced the date for the first Saturday in May. But no longer. They had moved the date of the event to the 5 September 2020 due to the pandemic.

Back on Tuesday, the post draw took place. And if you are following the topic, you’ll know that the results have shown up. It is safe to know that the field for the 146th Kentucky Derby has been set.

The post time of this racing event is at 7:01 PM EST on Saturday, September 5 at Churchill Downs. For the viewers in the US, you could watch this spectacle on NBC.

If you are following Tiz the Law as the favorite, the post is no.17. Well, it is a true shocker, right? Although Tiz the Law has been the favorite one, it hits the no.17. In the 145-year history of the Kentucky Derby race, not a single horse has ever won the Derby from that position.

In fact, no. 17 is slated as the only gate that never produces the winner of the Kentucky Derby. Regardless, it is not the first time for the no.17 to hold the favorites.

In the Previous Derby, the favorite didn’t come through. Well, the 2019 was abnormal too without the pandemic. Meanwhile, the favorite, Omaha, scratched. Back then, Maximum Security finished at the first place but then disqualified, making it as the first winner to be pulled out from the field. Then the winner was Country House from the no.20 position.

As we have seen the records of this spectacular game, we cannot neglect the possibilities that something unique will also happen in the 2020 Kentucky Derby event.

Honor AP and Authentic dew the wide posts. Honor AP will start in the No.16. Meanwhile, the counterpart is at no. 18.

Now, it is for another shocker. The three favorite horses are starting from the three widest positions.

There were just eleven horses ever won the Kentucky Derby which started wider than no.15. Obviously, it will be tough for all of the favorites since they are starting from the wider positions. The five of the last nine winners started from no.16 Position or wider than it.

On the contrast side, the No. 5 spot has produced the most winners for the Kentucky Derby Event. And the one which fills the position right now is Major Fed.

The Trainer Bob Baffert will attempt to get the victory again in the upcoming Kentucky Derby 2020. Thousand Words and Authentic are under his umbrella.

While the no.5 has produced the most winners in the history of Kentucky Derby, the no. 4, No. 8 and No. 10 have produced 10 winners each. Who knows, one of these horses are in your betting list: Storm the Court, South Bend, and Thousand Words.
